The acquisition supports STRABAG’s strategy of vertical integration in Australia

Following its successful entry into the Australian market through the acquisition of Georgiou Group in March 2025, STRABAG continues to expand its Australian business. Having focused initially on the integration of Georgiou and the transfer of international expertise and capabilities into the local market, the Group is now taking the next step in its growth strategy through both organic expansion and targeted acquisitions.

STRABAG Australia Pty Ltd. has signed an agreement to acquire KEE Surfacing Pty Ltd., part of the KEE Group. Based in Western Australia, KEE Surfacing employs approximately 70 people and generates annual revenue of around 52 million euros. The company provides asphalt production and laying, spray seal, profiling and base course services for transport infrastructure projects across Western Australia.

The acquisition of KEE Surfacing marks the next step in STRABAG’s growth in Australia. Following the successful integration of Georgiou Group, we are expanding our capabilities and strengthening vertical integration. This proven STRABAG model has been a key success factor in our European core markets and will further enhance our offering to infrastructure clients in Australia.

Strengthening vertical integration

The acquisition of KEE Surfacing supports STRABAG’s strategy of strengthening vertical integration in Australia. As in its European core markets, STRABAG combines infrastructure construction with in-house materials production, enabling greater control over costs, quality, project delivery and supply chains while increasing resilience.

KEE Surfacing’s asphalt production and additional surfacing capacities, STRABAG further expands its value chain in Australia. Since entering the market through the acquisition of Georgiou Group in March 2025, STRABAG has nearly doubled its order backlog in the country to more than one billion euros.

Completion of the transaction remains subject to customary conditions.
