STRABAG SE expands Management Board: Christa Koenen appointed CIDO

Christa Koenen will join the Management Board of STRABAG SE on 1 January 2027.

Christa Koenen to take responsibility for the Group’s IT and digitalisation activities

The Supervisory Board of publicly listed construction group STRABAG today resolved to appoint Christa Koenen as the sixth member of the Management Board with effect from 1 January 2027. In her new position, Koenen will be responsible for the Group-wide IT agenda as well as for digitalisation and innovation. Previously, she was a member of the management board of Schenker AG, responsible for IT and digitalisation. Prior to that, she served as CIO of Deutsche Bahn AG.

The pace of development in data-driven technologies is accelerating enormously. As STRABAG aspires to be technology leader in the construction industry, we need to focus on harnessing the potential that these new technologies hold for us. To support this objective, the Supervisory Board has decided to bring all IT and digitalisation activities together under a single Management Board portfolio. With Christa Koenen, we are deliberately strengthening this key area for the future through external expertise.
