Mendota Invest appoints STRABAG as general contractor for northern part of Emonika, a project development in Ljubljana

Mendota Invest, member of the OTP Group and the investor behind the new landmark Emonika project in Ljubljana, announces that STRABAG, one of Europe's leading construction companies, has been selected as the general contractor for the construction of the northern part of the development. Northern part of Emonika will include three apartment buildings, support retail premises, a hotel, an office tower as well as underground parking. The contract value is above 80 million euros. This marks a significant milestone in the realisation of Slovenia’s first multifunctional complex, which will be completed in three years’ time. The tender process for the southern part of Emonika is still ongoing.
The project’s strategic location and innovative, sustainable design aim to establish Emonika as a key business and community hub, enriching not only the skyline but also the daily lives of its residents. By adopting best practices from across Europe, Emonika will not only meet the highest standards of construction, but also reflect a future-oriented approach that prioritises sustainability and quality of life. The Emonika complex will include a shopping centre, business premises, apartments and two hotels.
The northern part of Emonika, which is being developed on the northern side of the Ljubljana railway station, on the historic site of Emona, will include a total usable floor space of 78,000 square metres. The 40-metre-high main building with office space is located on Dunajska Street in the city centre. The complex also includes three residential blocks with a total of 187 apartments and a building height of between 22.5 and 28 metres as well as three basement levels with 600 parking spaces.
