STRABAG commits to science-based climate targets
24 October 2024
- STRABAG signs up to Science Based Targets initiative
- Commitment to goal of 1.5 °C temperature rise
- Next step: define near-term target for 2030
“Our commitment to ‘Work On Progress’ also means being part of the solution and actively shaping the future of construction. This requires us to take a close look at the challenges facing our industry. We are already working on ways to reduce our CO2e emissions, and our commitment to science-based targets is the next step in making these ambitions measurable and transparent. Our action sends a clear message that we take sustainability seriously,” says Marco Xaver Bornschlegl, Head of STRABAG Innovation & Digitalisation.
STRABAG now has 24 months to submit a near-term target for validation. This target must then be realised in line with climate science by 2030.
