STRABAG implements one of Romania’s largest wind farms as general contractor
9 September 2025
- The 140 MW wind farm Deleni is the largest renewable energy plant in the Moldova region
- The project is now in the phase of installing its 23 wind turbines
- Once completed, the wind farm will supply clean energy to around 62,000 households annually
With a total installed capacity of 140 MW, the Deleni Wind Farm is the largest renewable energy plant in the Moldova region and one of the most significant projects of its kind in Romania. Once operational by the end of 2025, the facility is expected to generate 370 GWh of green energy annually, enough to power 62,000 households and reduce CO₂ emissions by an estimated 215,000 tonnes per year.
The Deleni Wind Farm Project diversifies Romania’s wind energy production beyond the Dobrogea region, contributing to greater grid stability and energy security. It also brings direct benefits to the local communities in Deleni, Costești, and Bogdănești through job creation, infrastructure upgrades, and long-term tax revenues.
