STRABAG creates more capacity in pipeline construction through acquisition in Gronau

STRABAG AG, Cologne, acquires Sandkamp Tiefbau GmbH from Gronau, thereby further expanding its regional competitive position in pipeline construction for public utility providers. All 25 Sandkamp employees will be taken on and join the STRABAG team in Nordhorn and Gronau.
The Nordhorn division has been active for many years as a specialist partner in the public utilities sector. With the acquisition of the certified family business, STRABAG gains valuable specialists and strengthens its customer relationships and local market presence in Westmünsterland. The expanded personnel capacities also enable even closer cooperation with other Group units to better utilise synergy effects in the region.
"There is a lot to do in the region, so we are all the more pleased that we can further expand our business area with this acquisition and welcome new, highly committed colleagues to our ranks," explained Dirk Jacobs, Commercial Manager of the STRABAG Business Unit Nordhorn.
As a medium-sized specialist company, Sandkamp has been working in pipeline, cable and sewer construction for utility service providers in the region for more than 100 years. "After many generations of ownership, it was essential to us to develop a long-term perspective for our company and our valued employees. I am delighted that we have found the ideal partner in the Nordhorn unit of STRABAG and that our team is in safe hands for the future," says owner Johannes Sandkamp.
The acquisition will take effect retroactively from 1 January 2025; the parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
