STRABAG SE: Result of the Extraordinary General Meeting
5 May 2022
- Recall of the Member of the Supervisory Board delegated by Rasperia
- STRABAG committed to compliance with EU sanctions against Oleg Deripaska
The Extraordinary General Meeting of STRABAG SE that was held today, Thursday, 5 May 2022, passed the only item on the agenda with the required majority: Thomas Bull, the Supervisory Board member delegated by shareholder Rasperia, a company in which Oleg Deripaska indirectly holds 49 % and over which he exercises control, was recalled and the Supervisory Board was reduced from four to three members elected by the General Meeting. Hermann Melnikov, who had been nominated for the Supervisory Board by Rasperia, already resigned his mandate of his own accord on 13 April 2022.
After Canada and the United Kingdom, the EU on 8 April 2022 also imposed sanctions on Oleg Deripaska. The asset freeze blocks the exercise of all rights associated with Rasperia’s STRABAG SE shares, therefore also freezing the right of delegation associated with registered share no. 2.
“STRABAG has taken a clear position from the start of the war. Accordingly, the company is committed to full implementation of the EU sanctions,” says Alfred Gusenbauer, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of STRABAG SE.
