STRABAG subsidiary EFKON expands presence in Norwegian market

Eight more toll collection stations near Oslo and Bergen
Maintenance contract concluded for at least seven years

Graz, 15 May 2019----EFKON, a specialising in toll collection systems subsidiary of Austrians biggest construction company STRABAG, is expanding its market share in the Norwegian toll collection system with two more projects.

In addition to Bypakke Bergen and Oslopakke 3 with more than 100 toll stations and a maintenance contract for eight years, EFKON was entrusted in April to implement two new projects "Nordhordland package in Hordaland" and “Damåsen-Saggrenda”. The contracts for Nordhordland and Damåsen include the construction and operation of at least five toll stations near Bergen and at least three near Oslo, commissioning is scheduled for 1 December 2019 for the project near Bergen and 1 November 2019 for the project near Oslo. A maintenance contract of at least seven years with the option of an annual renewal is included.

EKFON was able to convince the customers, Ferde AS & Vegfinans AS, the regional toll companies in south-western and eastern Norway, with the concept already proven in Bergen and Oslo. The modern concept scores in particular with an appealing design and the small number of required components to fulfil the required AutoPASS specification.
