The purchase agreement originally concluded by a joint STRABAG/PORR holding company for the acquisition of VAMED-KMB Krankenhausmanagement und Betriebsführungsges.m.b.H. (VKMB), VAMED Standortentwicklung und Engineering GmbH (VSG) with its Austrian project development business, and the VAMED Group’s spa holdings in Austria was terminated today, as implementation could not proceed as planned. PORR AG intends to acquire VSG and the related spa holdings separately.
STRABAG SE is negotiating the acquisition of VAMED-KMB Krankenhausmanagement und Betriebsführungsges.m.b.H. (VKMB), which operates the technical facility management at Vienna General Hospital (AKH Wien) and is responsible for AKH Wien’s construction projects. The seller is VIACAMA AG (formerly VAMED Aktiengesellschaft), a group company of Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA, Germany. Constructive discussions are also taking place with the hospital’s operator, the Vienna Healthcare Association (WIGEV).
A potential acquisition of VKMB by STRABAG remains subject to further due diligence, agreement on the transaction terms, and subsequent regulatory approvals, including clearance by the competent competition authorities.
