- STRABAG establishes special fund for affected employees and their families
- Works council delivers more than 2,000 winter jackets to disaster area
Vienna, 16 February 2023---The STRABAG Group is moved by the images of devastation from Turkey and Syria. A few days after the earthquakes, the STRABAG Management Board, together with the works council, therefore resolved to pursue targeted initiatives to provide much-needed assistance.
In a spontaneous emergency aid campaign organised by the works council, more than 2,000 winter jackets were delivered to the disaster area within just a short amount of time.
Additionally, the Management Board decided to establish a special fund in STRABAG’s name to provide the best possible support to affected employees in their individual endeavours.
“In times of crisis, families come together. This is also and especially true for our STRABAG family. All of us are shocked and saddened by the images of devastation following the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. But instead of feeling helpless, we are doing something about it – first of all by expressing our sympathies to those of our colleagues and co-workers who have friends and relatives in the affected areas,” says Klemens Haselsteiner, CEO of STRABAG.
The fund, which is being set up in the spirit of the STRABAG Employment and Social Fund, is open to all colleagues with extended families in the disaster area. The STRABAG Group trusts that these individual networks, as a complement to the work of the international aid organisations, are an effective way of providing help as quickly as possible.
